Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers to the questions we hear most often from those considering treatment.
What conditions does Palm Valley treat?
We provide care for adults and adolescents navigating depression, anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, and related mental health conditions — including co-occurring conditions where more than one diagnosis is present at the same time.
How do I know which level of care is right for me?
You don’t have to figure it out alone. Our admissions team conducts a free, confidential clinical assessment to recommend the level of care that fits your symptoms, history, and life situation — from outpatient through intensive outpatient and inpatient.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We work with most insurance carriers and will verify your benefits at no cost before treatment begins. We’ll walk you through what’s covered, what your out-of-pocket cost may look like, and any options if coverage is limited.
How long does treatment take?
Length of stay depends on the program, your clinical needs, and the progress you make. Most outpatient programs run 8–16 weeks, while higher levels of care may be shorter and more intensive. Your treatment team reviews progress regularly and adjusts the plan with you.
What can I expect on my first day?
You’ll be welcomed by our admissions and clinical team, complete a thorough biopsychosocial assessment, and meet your primary therapist and prescriber. We’ll review your treatment plan with you, answer questions, and make sure you feel oriented before any group work begins.
Do you offer family support?
Yes. With your consent, family members can participate in family therapy sessions, educational programming, and a weekly multifamily group. Recovery often goes deeper when the people who love you understand what you’re doing and how to support it.
What happens after I complete treatment?
Discharge planning starts on day one. We help you build an aftercare plan that may include step-down care, outpatient therapy, peer support groups, and connections in your community — so the work you did with us keeps growing once you’re home.
Where is Palm Valley located?
Our residential facility is located at 68275 Verano Rd in Cathedral City, California, just minutes from Palm Springs. See our location and map.
Do you serve clients from Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley?
Yes. We welcome adults from Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indio, and communities throughout the Coachella Valley and Southern California.
